More Arrests In Mendocino National Forest Raids

As of late yesterday the arrests in Mendocino National Forest raids have climbed to 88 and more than 380, 000 plants have been destroyed.  Some members of the press have been taken into see the sites which were described as “denuded and poisoned.”

These multi agency raids which began July 11 and may continue through tomorrow (and possibly be part of a three year campaign) are part of an intensive operation to protect the Mendocino National Forest and return its use to the public.  Law enforcement and some local residents claim that growers (some who may be affiliated with Mexican cartels) have made public use nearly impossible.  There have been claims of threats and gun shots used to warn people from the Forest.
