You Think 300 Pot Plants is a lot…
Nearly 300 acres of marijuana was discovered under shade cloth in the desert south of Ensenada, Mexico. The cloth covered plants as tall as 7 feet and some were nearly ready to harvest. At about the size of 225 football fields, the plantation is believed to be the biggest ever found in Mexico. There were around 60 people tending the plants when they were discovered but most were able to flee.
According to the New York Times article, General Alfonso Duarte of the Mexican army said the crop “ould have yielded about 120 tons and was worth about $160 million.”

<—-WAS GONNA MAKE A CAMMO JOKE BUT…..THINK IT'S ON GOOGLE EARTH?
Google earth is out of date, I think. We haven’t had a new photo here for 6 years maybe? I’m guessing this is a newish place.
This is certainly not 300 acres… 40 maybe.
This is certainly not 300 acres… 40 maybe.
Well… maybe more than 40…
I bet its pretty damn close
Looks plenty big to me…
300 acres to 120 metric tons or about 50 square feet per lb. $160 million per 120 metric tons or $600 per lb. Over 1,000 lbs per acre, over $600k per acre.
13,000 Humboldt 215 patients worth of 10x10s.
I wonder whats gonna happen to all that pot?
They say they’re going to burn it.
160,000 patients. Sorry, mis-pot-calculated.
Someone at the 420 times calculated that this patch would have yielded about a half an ounce of pot per “each of 10 million marijuana smokers in the U.S”
Total Mexican annual output 25,000(?) metric tons. 120 / 25,000 or 0.48%.
100 days in the Mexican growing season. Two 300 acres busts per day to eradicate 100%.
At least they “put em in the sun” 🙂
300 acres is a half mile by a mile… actually 320.
I was thinkin it looked pretty close to a mile left to right, hard to tell the other direction.
