Bear VS Big Rig

A bear and a big rig collided near Mile Marker 65 on Hwy 101  (near Fortuna) a little before 6:30 this morning.  The Highway Patrol calls this a no injury collision…I imagine they were talking about the driver not the bear….

As of the time of this post, the bear had disappeared “in bushes.”  No one apparently was willing to go in looking for it–who could blame them?

I understand that there is a couple of rather large (for black bear) bears wandering around the East Branch of the Eel. A fisherman had his gut bucket raided.

A sure way to attract bears from miles around is to put fish guts out where they can smell them.
