Do Good, Look Good
Today, inmates from the Humboldt Co. Correctional Facility donated items they had made to Betty Chin and the homeless individuals that she helps. As I posted yesterday, two volunteers teach knitting and crocheting to inmates. The items created have, in the past also gone to seniors and other groups. These photos were taken at the event today and they made me smile. Thought I’d pass the smile on.
The photo above is Elena Ashe, a participant in the program–She looks like a model, doesn’t she? Below is an sweetly done washcloth and soap holder.
Here are Correctional Officer Karen Porter (who also donated items), Elena Ashe, Betty Chin and Victoria Little with some of the many creations donated.
I stole half the Humboldt Mirror’s motto because it’s my favorite half and it doesn’t get enough use on their site—-
