Wondering how long it will take our State Parks Department to complete environmental review and fix this section of road. Two years is what was stated in the local paper. This washout is slowing down traffic at least, along with the speed bumps (pot holes). Some states, from what I hear, are reducing the number of agencies that are in charge of road maintenance to save money. In this case CalTrans would be in charge of fixing this road as a state responsibility. Why is State Parks in Charge of this road fix in the first place? The duplicative nature of competing government agencies is just one of the reasons we have such a deep state and federal debt crisis isn’t it? And we do have the best County Road Crew in the country. Thanks to the local road crew for getting the road cleared and up and running again. I wish the State Parks people would just give Marty and crew the money to fix it, but that’s not gonna happen is it? Again, much thanks to our Humboldt County Road Crew. Hopefully this snow and landslide weather will subside and you all can get a break and some much needed sleep! THANKS!
