Addicted to Marijuana–How will the Emerald Triangle Adapt to Increasing Legalization

Last night The California Report played a story that I co-reported.  In the piece we tried to tell what it is like here in  Humboldt now, what it was like in the past, and what people here are doing to meet a future as marijuana’s role in society changes.

We tried to capture sounds from now, voices retelling the past, and get a small sense of what some people are doing to meet the future.  You can listen to it here. You can also see photos and read the short reporter’s notebook my co-reporter Lisa Morehouse wrote about her experiences here.

More snippets that didn’t fit in to the final piece can be found in the following places.

Kym, what an outstanding report, audio, and beautiful pictures. I liked it.! My kindest regards to you, Lisa Morehouse, and the California Report for a very nice job and link. Thank you– and please keep up the good work! I’d like to briefly link/post your site and this California Report for Humboldt Herald’s readers:

On a related note, the Humboldt Herald posted opinions on the proposed Humboldt County Marijuana Draft Ordinance– good and bad– for readers to know, and how it affects them. Skippy’s first-hand– and somewhat irreverent — report on that Planning Commission meetng is here. You may use it if you like (and to note, Kim and Charlie did a fine job representing):

Kym, if your Dear Reader wants to see the actual County marijuana draft regulations here:
http://co.humboldt.ca.us/planning/docs/marijuana-inland.pdf
http://co.humboldt.ca.us/planning/docs/marijuana-coastal.pdf

And lastly to note, written comments on the draft marijuana regulations can still be submitted in writing to the Humboldt County Planning Commission, 3015 H Street, Eureka, CA. Their phone for questions is (707) 445-7541

peace, skips
