One Good Turn…Turns Into A Very BAD Day

One good turn deserves another.  But yesterday, a Eureka couple were arrested for trying to help out a neighbor.  What they were doing was illegal but was it wrong?

According to a press release from the Humboldt County Drug Task Force:

On 01/02/2011, the Humboldt County Drug Task Force (HCDTF) along with the California Department of Justice, Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement executed search warrants in several locations within Humboldt County, bringing an end to an ongoing investigation into the illegal transportation and sale of marijuana.  At approximately 2:30 PM Agents conducted a traffic stop near Benbow, on a vehicle driven by Brandon SAVIO.  SAVIO, who along with his wife Christina SAVIO, were the focus on an ongoing investigation.  During a search of the vehicle pursuant to a search warrant, Agents discovered a large sum of US Currency concealed within.

Meanwhile, Agents monitoring SAVIO’s residence in the 2100 block of Notre Dame in Eureka saw a male walk inside and carry out what was later determined to be several firearms.  The male took the firearms into a residence then returned to the SAVIO residence, only to exit a short time later carrying a paper bag.  Agents contacted the male, who was identified as Gordon GLYNN, and determined that the paper bag contained approximately two pounds of processed marijuana.  It was later determined that Gordon and Mari GLYNN concealed four firearms and a large sum of US Currency for the SAVIO’s after being told by Christina SAVIO that her husband was just arrested.

A search warrant was subsequently served at 2145 Notre Dame, where Agents discovered an indoor cultivation operation and an additional nine pounds of processed marijuana.  A search warrant was also obtained and served on the GLYNN residence located at 2144 Notre Dame.  Here Agents discovered a large indoor cultivation operation consisting of over five hundred marijuana plants at various stages of growth, including clones and processed bud.  Also located inside the GLYNN home was packaging material, several firearms, and a large sum of US Currency.

Gordon and Mari GLYNN, who are both employed by Humboldt County, possessed valid Concealed Weapon Permits.  Both were arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Jail on suspicion of conspiracy, possession of marijuana for sales, and maintaining a residence for the purpose of cultivation and the sales of marijuana.

An additional search warrant was served on SAVIO’s rural property located near Carlotta.  Agents discovered an indoor diesel grow with approximately five hundred marijuana plants.  Brandon and Christina SAVIO were arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Jail on suspicion of transportation and the sales of marijuana.

Hold up.

These people took five guns and two pounds out of a house because dude who owned it just got popped. That’s some kinna real brilliant maneuver right there. Like his wife never heard of sealing up and burying all that evidence in the woods on a solo mission and coming back to get it after they get out of jail. Naw, she’ll just move it next door for safe keeping, that’ll fool po po.

Sorry but these folks deserve what they get just for being so goddamn dumb. Natural selection and shit bruh bruh.

Out in the country they can’t watch your house, without a bunch of neighbors asking questions.

Reminds me of a couple of Salmon Creek stories. Not really, but sorta’. Those were definitely neighborly.

A chopper crash landed late one September afternoon on a hill near Briceland, and the pilots camped overnight with it to watch it. During the night the owner of the patches which were being targeted removed all of the bud, some of which was only a hundred feet away from the CAMP campsite.

Suzy, as Ben says, something like that’s happened up here, too. I like that about our little country communities.
