Because Humboldt Needs Reminding to Buy More Turkey Bags
From a sign near Fortuna.
Actually, for those of you needing to package 100 pounds, the GoBeGreenBags sounds like a good deal. (Though with 100 pounds, you shouldn’t need to pinch pennies.)
Here is their ad in case you’re frugal anyway:
With a background in cooking and gardening industries we noticed a high demand for multi-use turkey oven bags that were impossible to buy in bulk. The most commonly available bag this size (18 x 24 inches) on the market is sold in a 2-pack box averaging over two dollars per bag.
TWO BAGS PER BOX WITH NO BULK OPTION IS AN ENVIRONMENTAL AND ECONOMIC WASTE!
GoBeGreen provides a higher quality bag at half the price and 50 times less boxes than the leading brand. Buy 100 bags for 100 dollars in one recyclable box.
Don’t forget that the bags have many fine qualities.
- Effective odor barrier
- Effective microbial barrier
- Ideal for home and gardening projects
- Highly durable and puncture resistant
- Clearer transparency for better viewing of bag’s contents
- Are 18 x 24 inches and weigh approx. 14 grams
All I need to do is picture a bewildered couple in a Winnebego reading that sign and I crack up.

Oh, geez, I’ve got to go get video of that sign for the movie.
Did I ever tell you that Jim says that Redway ShopSmart sells 20 pallets/year of Reynold’s oven bags? Apparently a similarly-sized grocery store elsewhere sells 1/2 pallet/year, mostly around Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I saw these at Geiger’s a few weeks ago.

LOL! Love it. Have you ever opened one of the cans of Guinness with the little gas release that makes it as foamy as a draft? We need some entrepreneur to invent little nitrogen capsules to open in a TB.

This is really too funny. I saw the billboard on 101 while driving with a friend and we both commented as to how dumb an ad it was. I mean after all how many turkey bags could someone sell to justify a highway billboard. We were also confused as to wether they were turkey baking bags, as in you put them in the oven with a turkey and stuffing or if they were for turkey meat storage. We never even dreamed that they had a use other than turkeys.
Not to date myself but we always used gallon size zippys.
I guess we were the turkeys in the end.
I worked at a dispensary for 10 years in marin and they had a mountain of used turkey bags in one corner from vendors so tens of thousands + turkey bags are used. We recyled them by using the large size ones with a volcano vaporizer mouthpiece with a rubber band and a digital heat gun that works way faster than volcano base and you get a huge bag of vape for mass tokage.

I cracked up when I saw that sign and almost drove off the highway. Trim Scene sells 200 bags for $85 so it’s not much of a deal.

Billboards are subtle! Oh thanks Kym, I needed a laugh. Guess California has decided “To hell with coming out of the closet, we’re coming out of the house!” Next up – the Pot Head Pride Parade – be there or be square…

Last I looked they sell 150 packs of turkey bags for $50 at Cash and Carry. I got the pack here says “964.” No box just hella bags wrapped in a paper label.
I don’t know if this is still sold as I’ve had the same pack for five years.

This campaign isn’t just local — I saw the same billboard down in Sonoma County last weekend.
