Hey, Google

Hey Google,

Here in the hills of Humboldt we hope you give our “big” city cousins of Arcata and Eureka a look when you are deciding where to try your experimental high speed broadband network.

Why?

Because country folk are always trying to help the neighbors.  Of course, we also figure when you discover

our sunsets

our sunrises

our wildlife

our wildflowers

our unique events

our unique trees (a few of our majestic Redwoods are actually some of the only albino trees in the world)

all our  local products including delicious wines, top notch beers, world class cheeses, handmade quilts and all the other reasons why we want to raise our children here, well we figure you’ll be spreading out from our “big” city cousins and experimenting with expanding your broadband to our rural market.

So come  to Humboldt, fall in love, and stay awhile.

Love,

Humboldt Hill Folk

PS (anybody who wants to support the Hey Google, Come to Humboldt movement become a fan on Facebook.)

Thanks Kym! And you must know that it pained me somewhat that I couldn’t include the Avenue folks and the Creekers. But we’ll get there.

After all that I think I’d have a real hard time convincing Google to make it Dayton, Ohio.

Kym… The Google camera car has done everyplace but the Avenue of the Giants. What is with those guys? I hear that if you can get the new Verizon cell tower, you can get high speed from them.

i to noticed that google did not do the avenue of the giants. i was trying to re live my drive on it when i got back from vacation ha.

my own little speculation to this is: the avenue of giants generates a lot of tourism, and since its a drive that everyone must do(in my opinion) maybe they left it out for you to experience on your own! lol.
