Beneath the Moon

A hard earthquake just shook Humboldt County (9:45 Saturday November 15th).  It lasted about 20 seconds but didn’t do any harm up here.  It was centered in the ocean due west of Petrolia about 17 miles.  The quake was a 4.4. Click here for map.

Don’t send them up here. We get enough on our own. Nice moon pic, btw, like the halo around it. Looks like you’re in for a little rain.

Thankfully I didn’t feel it up here. Haven’t felt one for quite some time, actually (knock on wood).

How wonderful to be above the clouds/fog so that you can capture this sort of image. Otherwise I would have sworn you were on an airplane.

Kym… Thanks for the great earthquake site! We rattled and rolled a bit here on the Avenue. Looked at each other and said: Earthquake!

Apparently, there was just another one about the time you were posting centered around Rio Dell but it was only a 2.0.

I grew up in southern California. That is the one thing I truly do not miss! Glad there was no harm done.

I’d never seen his work before but I went online and searched. I like it.
