Fawning over Bambi
Fawn
Daily Photo
Over at Archie’s he reminisces about the five scariest scenes in children’s movies. He mentions several really terrifying moments (the childcatcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is bone chilling) but he didn’t mention my most frightening scene–the one where Bambi’s mom is killed.
I took this photo above just after the doe bounded across the road and her fawn was stuck on the far side with me separating them. This little one is so young he can’t really conceive that he might be in danger. The doe on the other hand was quite concerned–like me, after seeing Bambi, she knows her worst fears can come true.

Wonderful to catch the fawn before he/she darted away.

Pretty. Made it back to mom OK I take it.
Gotta love those ears! We have a doe and a set of fawns in our valley. The fawns are very small and speckled but so full of energy that it just cracks me up whenever we see them. So sweet.
Man, you are just brilliant. This is beautiful.
Great photo. Depth of field just right. I could never do that out a car window. You must have been thinking fast.
Luckily the little guy stayed in place for about a minute before making it back to his mama.
What ears! How wonderful that you are someplace where you can readily obtain such images!
