Maxfield Parrish Morning
Maxfield Parrish Morning
My favorite place to watch the sunrise.
I slip out the back door past my sleeping 5 year old. I climb the little dirt path to the old road and wander across the meadow with my dog throwing herself about in ecstasy. When I quietly open the door 20 minutes later, my little guy hasn’t climbed out of bed yet and my oldest, hearing me, finally groans himself out of bed to go to work.
Who needs coffee when the mornings look like this?

Nice photo! I had the privilege of viewing an exhibit of original Maxfield Parrish paintings at the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester NY in 2000. It was unforgettable- the gallery walls seemed to actually glow.
I enjoy his work. I love the color of peach that he permeates many of his paintings with!
Parrish was a fave of SoHum artist Lary Carpenter
His work was lovely! I particularly like Purple Mountains!
“with my dog throwing herself about in ecstasy.”
Strangely, “Ecstacy” is the name of one of Maxfield Parishes paintings.
Yep, One of his classics. Though not my favorite.
Glorious! Reminds me of the colors in paintings by Bierstadt.
I think romantic
(in the artistic sense) is a term that applies to Parrish, Bierstadt, Carpenter, and aspects of many of your photos. But then again –some of your pics are romantic in the other (froggy) sense 😉
Maybe if I had billed that photo as Froggy porn, I would have gotten more hits 8)
It is not cool to be a romantic but I can’t help myself. My world is full of big colors and beautiful somewhat stagy drama. Luckily I have a bit of the sense of comic to keep me from being the totally overblown Romantic.
I hope.
LOL! I love your sunrises. I hope you get a selection of them up in one place some day. Looking forward to seeing your portraits too.
Thank you, maybe after I’ve done a year, I’ll do a “retrospective”–Sunrises in Salmon Creek 8)
lovely pics. I just clicked a sunset today, so hopefully I will post some pics on my blog too:)
I’m looking forward to seeing what your area of the world looks like!
I do have a post or two with pictures, and I wrote about Singapore today…maybe will try and download the pics and check if they are some of those blurry ones I am famous for:)
Half the photos I take get dumped because of blurriness 8)
