Hyacinths
If of thy worldly goods thou art bereft,
And from thy slender store two loaves alone to thee are left,
Sell one, and with the dole
Buy hyacinths to feed thy soul.

Ah, so beautiful! I love the poem too. Have read it before but had forgotten about it.
Spring! Glorious spring!
Looks like Muscari to me, not Hyacinths.
Hyacinths are in the Muscari group. They are so beautiful.

.
*happy sigh* Gorgeous picture and beautiful words to go with it.
I love this.
I saw online where someone memorized this as a child (like I did) but instead of “Sell one, and with the dole” they had remembered it as’Sell one, and with the DOUGH”
I love it! Much more modern.
