Kitty,
To most everyone else in the country, our part of California may as well be Canada. Few can fathom that there’s any part of CA north of the Bay Area (San Francisco Bay, that is), and fewer have ever heard of Humboldt. BTW, I’m temporarily displaced in IL, but still refer to Northern CA as “mine”. 😀
Kym,
Another great post, great pic, and lovely visual description (in case the photo doesn’t do it). I, like Ren, miss the area. Unlike Ren, however, I’ll be there in 9 days. YAY! Poor Ren.

I live in a very liberal part of a conservative county. Our landscape is nothing like Texas and neither is our political scape. However, we do have a wild west mentality in few ways;>
For Ren and all the other misplaced Humbees, we miss you. (Although, when I read your blog, Ren, about being in Japan I experience some pretty serious envy!)
For Jen and all fellow Humbees, Aren’t we lucky? I love this place!
For Heather and all Humbees coming home for Christmas, May your plane, train, or car ride be uneventful and may your stay here be followed by plans to move back here;>

Why did I think you were Canadian? Hmmm.
Oh, I live near Dallas, we have rodeos and cowboys and oil wells.

Beautiful shot!
Beautiful shot!
Thank you, Jack. When I see some of the beautiful shots you take, I feel pretty puny. So your kudos mean a lot.
