Veterans Sponsor Community Thanksgiving Meal at the Mateel, 4-H Kids Decorate

The SoHum Community is having its annual Thanksgiving dinner which is sponsored by the Garberville Veterans Association and hosted by the Mateel Community Center in their main hall today at noon. Everyone is invited. Volunteers are encouraged to come to help cook, and for cleanup afterwards.

The Miranda 4h showed and helped decorate the mateel today. Every year Tom Pietilla from the Garberville veterans association reaches out to our local 4h to help with events and card making. This is the first year since covid that we have been able to come out and help decorate. All the kids had a great time. Some made beautiful custom centerpieces.

Sawyer, our club reporter interviewed Tom Pietilla.
Tom said the Garberville Veterans association would like to envite the community to a feast of Turkey, Ham and all the fixings. It will be [Today] from noon to 5pm at the Mateel community center.
When Sawyer asked Tom what he liked most about this event he said:
“Feeding the people and seeing the people happy. It is better to give than recieve.
