This is an area southeast of Junction City.

According to forecasting published by PG&E Mendocino, Sonoma, and Lake Counties could face a PSPS starting Tuesday. Those counties as well as Humboldt, Trinity, Shasta, and other Northern California Counties could see their power cut on Wednesday night.

“The City of Arcata will begin work to remove the planter and granite steps located at the center of the Arcata Plaza on Tuesday, August 17.”

“Containment lines will be tested today with the forecasted near critical fire weather. Fire crews continue scouting the area between the fire’s edge and Tedoc Mountain to locate holding features to prevent fire spread to the north.”

“The wind shifting to the northwest provides opportunity for the western flank of the fire to experience clear skies in the afternoon, potentially allowing for air support…On the eastern edge of the fire, these winds will present a challenge for firefighters working on tying line in from the spot fires to the main fire.”

“The Monument Fire, McFarland Fire, River Complex, and Antelope Fire continue to produce heavy smoke impacts.”
