Man, you must have all felt that, right? The preliminary USGS report has that earthquake we just felt as a magnitude 5.1 5.7 and centered 40km SW of Ferndale. Not too shabby. Hey, who felt the 3.6 quake that tickled our coastline at 7:34 p.m.?  It was centered 26 miles southwest of Ferndale and pretty much due west of Petrolia.

Wow! A double roll of quakes followed one right after another near Petrolia this morning. The first was a 3.4 at 2:38 a.m.. The second, a 4.3, followed quickly at 2:44 a.m.  Both were a little over 10 miles deep.   Who felt them?

How many felt the 5.1 earthquake that struck about 70 miles west of Ferndale at 4:16 a.m. today? The quake was about 1.6 miles deep.  Oddly enough, last year we had a decent sized earthquake on New Year’s day, too. UPDATE 9:05 a.m.: An earthquake centered southwest of Willits occurred this morning around 8:45 a.m. It was a 3.9. Interesting little shaker swarm we’re having on the North Coast, eh? A 3.9 earthquake nudged awake a few North Coast residents at 11:38 p.m. Friday evening. The small quake was centered roughly west of Ferndale. This was followed today about 4:10

As of seven this morning, a series of twenty quakes all larger than 2.5 have followed behind last night’s 6.9 earthquake off the North Coast. Two have been larger than 4.5. Did you feel it? The USGS is reporting a 3.5 earthquake occurred NNE of Redway 4:54 P.M. 

The USGS is reporting a small 3.2 earthquake occurred about 21 miles west of Petrolia at 3:38 A.M.

At approximately 7:25 P.M. the USGS says that a 4.5 earthquake struck about 13 miles west of Eureka. Surely someone felt this?

UPDATE 11:23 P.M.:  There was a total of 5 earthquakes near Petrolia today. Redwood Tsunami Workshop posted the following on their Facebook page.
