“Humboldt County’s event is one in a series of student cleanups and aerial art displays at five locations along the California Coast throughout late May and early June, leading up to World Ocean Day. Prior to these events, students receive classroom presentations highlighting the biodiversity of our coasts and ocean, highlighting the many benefits of healthy coastal ecosystems.”

Eureka High School Senior Receives Over $60K in Scholarships

“Over the past few years Hou has worked closely with her teachers and the EHS Counseling Department to explore and apply to a vast and growing range of computer science opportunities, competitions, programs, and scholarships.
“My teachers and counselors have been really supportive. They have always been the ones who recommended me to different programs. Without them I probably wouldn’t have even known some of these scholarships existed,” said Hou.”

RCEA’s Redwood Coast Airport Microgrid Wins Statewide Reliability and Resiliency Awards

“The California Community Choice Association (CalCCA) recognized RCEA with a first place Impact Award in the Reliability category at their annual conference in San Diego. RCEA also won the “California Microgrid” award during Microgrid Knowledge’s 2023 Greater Good Award ceremony in Anaheim. RCEA staff were among 600 attendees at the CalCCA Conference in San Diego from May 16 to 19.”
