“On December 4, 2020, at about 9:35 p.m., officers with the Eureka Police Department responded to an alley near the 2000 block of Summer Street for the report of a shooting that had just occurred.”

“On Dec. 6, 2020, at about 3 a.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 70 block of Abbott Lane near Arcata for the report of a stabbing that had just occurred.”

Today, a fugitive apprehension team captured 24-year-old Round Valley resident Joaquina Patrice Joaquin in Richmond, California for her role in the kidnapping, torture, and homicides of Traci Bland and Kyle McCartney.

“The victim attempted to walk to Ferndale to get help, but was only able to make it to the where he was discovered in the road.”

“The prosecution and defense agreed on the sentence, which includes 4 years for the involuntary manslaughter of Taevonne Latimer, 10 years for using a firearm, and 1 year for assault with a firearm on a second male victim.’
