‘In 1990, Eden assaulted a woman with the intent to commit rape after he abducted her at gunpoint from the parking lot of a Eureka grocery store.  The woman was able to escape from Eden; he received a 5-year prison sentence for those crimes.  In 2003, Eden was convicted of additional sexually violent offenses… .”

Ukiah man Alfredo Hopper was arrested yesterday afternoon after he allegedly poured gasoline on hay bales, lit them on fire, and threw them on Old River Road southeast of Ukiah.

In an odd twist, the accused’s Facebook account had recently posted on the Laytonville/Branscomb Community Awareness Facebook page observing that “a lot of graffiti has been around town.” He specified that the graffiti was specifically “at the school mostly” surmising “younger kids” were responsible. In an aside, he stated, “I used to tag when I was 14-15.”

Traffic is being diverted after a wreck at the intersection of F and Henderson in Eureka about 7:40 p.m.

“Jones is a convicted felon and was currently out of jail on bail for charges of 245 PC (assault with a deadly weapon) and 11379 H&S (transportation of methamphetamine for sale).”

“During the search, detectives located a handgun, 2 pounds of methamphetamine, over 1600 Fentanyl pills, nearly 80 grams of heroin, 2000 milliliters of testosterone, 32 Xanax pills, and US currency.”
