The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim of a fatal shooting in the 59000 block of Bell Springs Road Friday, July 23.  The Sheriff’s Office announced, “On 07-29-2021 Sheriff’s Detectives were able to identify the victim as being Edgar Alejandro Becerra-Almaraz (27 year-old male from Rohnert Park, California).” They stated, “Next of kin notification has been completed and follow-up

“Skye was detained and placed with Social Services, while Jon was arrested on several warrants he had accrued during the course of the investigation.”

The victim’s daughter remembers being told that she had been on the phone with a friend that morning when their phone conversation came to an abrupt end as Michelle screaming followed by the sounds of a scuffle and loud voices saying, “I got her, I got her.”

“One…is being transported to an out of area hospital for specialized treatment.”

“[A] whole water truck of stolen water from a hydrant would only amount to a citation.”

“Alvarez Ruiz was one of two individuals detained on the property several hours after the Deputies arrival in respond to the reported shooting incident.”

“The victim reported to dispatch that a black 2006 Dodge Ram with a camper shell was stolen by “two Indian male adults” associated with a gray Camaro.”
