A motorcycle caught fire on Bell Springs Road about a half mile past the Alderpoint Road intersection this afternoon. Fortunately, a fire extinguisher was able to stop the first flareup, local resident Deborah Morton told us. The motorcycle did reignite but Alderpoint Fire Department put that out.

The road was closed for a time. However, controlled traffic is in effect after the roadway reopened a few minutes after 3 p.m.

I assume the rider is ok. Thank you Alderpoint Fire Department for arriving quickly and putting out the second flareup of fire. If you can, please donate to your local volunteer fire department. They deserve to have the very best of equipment! Your life may depend on it.
