The 6 tons was ‘dried cannabis’ so I’m imagining that’s more like hanging or in totes. But then with the 3500 ‘manicured’, that probably cancels out the stem and trim weight on the rest, so ya damn

That is a road trip if you ever go on that journey…if you follow through… you’ll be on your way towards Hyampom and the south fork of the Trinity river

Yeah the market is thriving so much, for the maybe 600 survivors of legalization. I used to grow my own modest amounts of medicine for my medicinal needs and now for the first time in my life I had to pay for it in desperation in immense pain. I couldnt afford the stuff from Humboldt at $2300, so I had to buy the oregon flowers for 1400 thank you Oregon!!! That’s the new market folks, we outsourced our world renowned market to Oregon because CA got greedy and screwed this all up for small farmers, no thanks to Humboldt County. When people are left houseless and penniless on our streets and in our forests, addicted to meth or in pain and on heroin thank our policymakers (Madrone aside) and planning dept. They set us all up for failure and came down with a massive multi-million dollar hammer simultaneously.

That’s going to put a little hurt on someone’s bottom line. Just the manicured bud itself is probably a 3 to 3.5 million dollar loss.

I hope those workers were getting paid as work was done and not waiting for one big payday.

Yes…
Like Taco 36 said, the Bulgarians don’t seem worried

And you’re correct, my dollar amount is on the extremely conservative side. We all know that not every pound is created equally.

If these were Bulgarian grows we’re not talking a couple people. This is an enterprise, a mafia that funnels money into extortion, human trafficking, hard drugs and probly lots more. They have no concept of greed because all the money goes out of the area to people higher in the ranks. The people on the ground are just pawns

South Fork Trinity River Median discharge for August 14th (over 54 years) is ~72 CFS. Today’s discharge is 40.1 CFS. It’s already a drought.
I have to think some of that reduction is due to these 26 diversions, and the 26,000 others that haven’t been discovered in the drainage. (it’s BIG!)
Throw in some fertilizers and economic poisons, and you’re talking about some real damage to the watershed.
Go after the Jefe!

I think we should defund the police, only if we can institute ” The Purge” like in the movie! Then we can all settle our differences, you know thin the herd, LOL

I find it fascinating that a county with a population of slightly over 130K can run these operations almost every day for half of the year. I understand they receive federal funding which pays a lions share, that being said, it has to cost a fortune. You figure 20-40 people and vehicles for one day easily costs 50K, and that doesn’t include helicopters and planes.

Well, yeah, it’s because you don’t know what you’re fascinated about.

The county ponies-up pennies, nickels and dimes. The Fed force feeds millions into the county coffers, with strings attached. And now the newest prohibitor on record … the State of California.

Thousands of new and recently paid-up members called the $64 army is every-day paying into the Bureau of Cannabis Control. Everything “legal” they do is taxed. Their proceeds into the California treasury fund deputy Dogg. The trick wasn’t very tricky, law enforcement enforces, where funded.

Inna nut shell California has a corrupt pay to play hierarchy. The permittees fund the enforcement waged upon their long-time friends and neighbors. Yes, in fact we have a civil war.

Most of us old schoolers that chose to go legal never wanted or had a say in how our tax dollars would be spent. We have friends on both sides and love the community. Obviously there are some real bad environmental players that deserve it no matter what they are growing, but I for one have been busted, and now I pay the erroneous fees and taxes each year. Neither are fun, but my love for the plant and my neighbor has not changed. This market is big enough for both sides to flourish as long as the environment isn’t suffering. I definitely do not see a civil war, just more government shenanigans and slight of hand . No surprises there

That’s a sound comment. You’re probly right the market is big enough to support legal & black market (for now). I think the plight of the small farmer going legal is the biggest concern to the industry at this time. From what I can see there is no real incentive for a “mom & pop” to get permitted, aside from being spared from having your crop cut down

Exactly. Completely different markets 1000%. And people need their medicine, now more than ever. Its a human right catastrophe.
