Garberville Rotary: Rotary Inspires the Next Generation

This is a press release from Garberville Rotary:

Rotarians Dennis Bourassa, Andy Barnett, and Alex Hulbert dedicate new Redway School garden beds, joined by Redway class representatives.

For over a hundred years the Rotary Club movement has made service to youth a central Area of Focus.  Rotarians work around the globe to insure that kids and communities thrive. Locally our Garberville Rotary Club has made youth a high priority for generations.

Southern Humboldt Rotarians spearheaded two projects at Redway School. A beautiful  entry plaza and expanded garden beds are enjoyed by the school. Students learn the discipline and skills of home-based agriculture, raising food for their springtime lunches. And no muddy shoes getting on and off the bus at the wide plaza. And every year fur club gives picture-rich dictionaries to every third grader in our area.

Each year  Garberville Rotary gives thousands of dollars in scholarships to deserving students at South Fork, funded by permanent endowments from honored past Rotarians including Harold Murrish and MonroeTobin.

All are invited to learn about what Rotary is doing to inspire Service Above Self in Southern Humboldt and beyond. We meet every Tuesday on Zoom. To be invited contact Carl Alex [email protected]   Be our guest for caring fellowship, opportunities for service, and great programs on a wide range of topics. Join the wave!
