These three adorable kiddos are excited because they got their $10 gift certificate from the Garberville branch of the Humboldt County Library. Readers who finish five books and fill out a reading log get a choice of a gift certificate to either of two local stores.

“The local Garberville Library is doing some awesome things for the local kids,” said Mira Davis, mother of the two kids on the right in the photo above and aunt of the third. “They have a different craft project to hand out every week for kids and are doing a summer reading program and when finished they give the kids a gift $10 certificate to either Blue Moon or Allsport.”

According to Kay Sheldon, the Garberville Library branch manager, “This is the last week to get a kit…Just request a kit by phone…If the kids want a gift certificate, they pick up a reading log at the library.”

For more information, call the Garberville Library at (707) 923-2230.

How do we make a donation of books to the library?
Lots of us are doing housecleaning/ reorganization right now.
Can’t stand the idea of books going into a landfill !

Where can we donate books?

Thanks

The library is not accepting donations of books right now: https://humboldtgov.org/707/Book-Donations
I have heard that some thrift stores are accepting donations – not sure which ones, though.
