You Can Present at the 2020 Humboldt History Symposium
This is a press release from the Clarke Historical Museum:
Are you a local history buff? If so, the Clarke Historical Museum and the Humboldt County Historical Society want to hear from you! Applications are now being accepted to present at the 2nd annual Humboldt History Symposium.
Because of the ongoing pandemic, this year’s symposium will be a virtual event, spread out over the course of a week. The plan is to have one or two presentations each day during the week of November 2, 2020. Presentations can be anywhere from 20-60 minutes long and will be live streamed via Zoom onto YouTube by the Clarke Museum, so audience members can view and comment live. Presenters can present either at the Museum or from a secondary location. Those with panel presentations, discussions, or ideas for workshops are welcome to apply.
There is no set theme for the symposium, but presentation topics should cover some aspect of Humboldt history.
There are a limited number of slots available, so submit your proposal soon, using the form at https://forms.gle/cbBtoAKdF6hg3aHY7. Applications close September 15, 2020. Presenters accepted for the event will be notified by the end of September.

🕯🌳Interesting. 👁
I hope and expect that the Back To The Lander residents will share their stories. Those are more recent but rich parts of Humboldt history.
Ben, agree! It’s just around 50 years since Back to the Landers came here, but the impact is undeniable, both positive & negative. I love wldnt ever consider the green rushers to be any kind of back to the landers, so that’s a different historic episode. I doubt they will be contributing their stories, but it’s definitely part of the evolution.
wonderful !
