(PHOTOS) The Elk of Northern Humboldt
Photographer Lynn Harrington took these photos of our local wildlife in northern Humboldt recently.
According to Animal Facts Encyclopedia:
Elk are social animals who live in same-sex herds of 10 to 20 individuals, that are loosely structured, and may come together in much larger groups, particularly as they migrate to higher ground.

Are these Roosevelt Elk?
Yes. Humboldt is now the most southerly range of the Roosevelt elk.
Do you know what type of Elk are in Laytonville?
Tule Elk which were introduced a number of years ago!
