Humboldt Adds 100 Positive COVID Cases in July After Two New Confirmed on July 31

Humboldt Test Results by the NumbersPress release from Humboldt County COVID19 – Joint Information Center:

Humboldt County’s total count of confirmed COVID-19 cases now stands at 233, after two additional cases were reported today.

In the 131 days from Feb. 20 to June 30 of this year, the county totaled 133 cases but has added 100 cases in the month of July alone. Humboldt County Health Officer Dr. Teresa Frankovich said, “The good news is that we are in a good position to substantially slow transmission of this virus in our community by avoiding contact with those who aren’t a part of our household and limiting non-essential travel as much as possible. If we all commit to taking these actions together, we can make a huge difference in health outcomes for Humboldt County.”

Today’s alert level stands at a three or level orange. Visit humboldtgov.org/dashboard to view the county’s Alert Level Assessment tool.

Fatality rate in Humboldt is falling everyday. Currently under 2 percent of infected die. Scary stuff. Numbers don’t lie, 17 out of 233 infected were admitted to the hospital. All this took over 7 months to happen.

There are many hundreds more that had covid but recovered without being tested. It’s all around us everywhere so we and our families need to remain safely away from the soiled masses.

My grandkids are staying safe by homeschooling with an innovative neighborhood group school. Six families all grouped together and their kids all meet at one home for the school day. A parent helps but the families share the cost of a tutor and use online teaching resources as well. I think this will be better than their public school education time.

Agreed. You designed a solution.

If the teacher’s unions are the hold-up. Keep the unionized schools closed.

This is a perfect time to increase non-union teaching. Teachers can disperse within their chosen community by satellite learning centers. Multiple groups of 5 unemployed teachers can do this, easily.

It’s back to the co-op system.

An attorney says hydroxycloroquin is not defensible in Court. Let’s go to Court and find out. Experts in pharmacology say it is not safe to use for convid-19. And everybody knows, but maybe not you, attorneys are not experts in medications. Your statement has no basis or credibility.

American Academy of Physicians & Surgeons sounds impressive. Actually they are a right wing political organization that has made a number of bogus medical pronouncements. Probably most notorious for claiming HIV does’t cause Aids. They have also pushed false information about vaccines and homosexuality among other disinformation.

Yes. Demons inhabited bodies. Vad spritis. Dark medicine. Its very very real and does and can cause physical sickness.. Its fine if you dont believe me but therr is more to this world than meets the eye. For instance.. There have been more than a few hospice workers among other professions that have sat in ceremony and had horroble spirits attatched to them.. Broaden your reality and then maybe you can see there is more than meets the eye.. Evem with covid… There are psychosomatic reations happening making people sicker than normal due to fear and anger and stress.. All plants and animals also have spirits and these can affect our physical realm as well..

No we can avoid contact with those who aren’t a part of our household, because most people are still working and stores are not limiting customers sufficiently to facilitate social distancing.

You have to take responsibility and not count on the overworked, underpaid clerks at your local Ray’s. You can stay back, you can speak up and tell people who crowd you to back off. Now is the time to be assertive. It is a matter of safety & survival.

Since the deniers and anti-maskers refuse to respect the views of people like Dr. Fauci, I wonder how they will respond to this development, since it comes from people they probably would respect, the top executives from Ford Motor Company, Boston Consulting Group, and CVS Health. They are asking the government to provide the funding for the following, and in strong words.

*High quality masks for free for ‘at risk’ people.

*Pressing for increased funding to state and local public health agencies for testing, including regular testing of asymptomatic individuals.

*Funding for food security and counseling for vulnerable populations that must shelter in place.

*Funding for health and safety measures in care homes, such as creating spaces to quarantine infected residents, protections to limit visitors, and testing residents and workers at least weekly.

When I first read this I thought, right on, that’s the ticket you guys. All those profits made during the last three and a half years from Trump opening the vault and saying take what you want should come back to help us now in our hour of need since Trump is the main reason things are so bad in the United States of Great America.

But then I thought, shouldn’t any government already be doing that. I mean think about it.

All this has been going on for months, where have you been? Workers comp has given grants to employers to cover all these costs. The county is in the process of providing grants to cover all these costs for employers also, where have you been researcher? All these grants to buy masks and cleaners and anything to promote social distancing. All brought to you by the federal government, AKA us had working taxpayers . But hey ,anything to keep you safe researcher, I mask up everyday to make sure you got food in the fridge. Peace out, keep them eyes open .

Fauci also said “Appearing before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Response, Fauci said he participated in, and approved of, all of those policies — and that he believes they all resulted in the saving of lives.” https://nypost.com/2020/07/31/fauci-says-trumps-coronavirus-policy-decisions-helped-save-lives/

That is one of the worst problems at the moment- there is some sort of idea that everything must support an opinion and everything that doesn’t is a lie. Cherry picked news stories from the same feed would make opinion out of news. All in or all out when it is almost never realistic.

The only way to get back to normal is for everyone to wear masks for a while to stop the spread. You think people that know they’re sick spread it? No. It’s people who don’t know they’re sick who spread it. Wear a mask or stay home in your house.

Lol Just yesterday I was waiting to talk to a receptionist (with my mask on) and felt a tickle in my throat. As I turned my head, as my mother trained me to do as a child, and coughed into the mask, I thought “I hope no one thinks I have Covid-19.” Then I thought to myself “I hope I don’t have Covid-19.” I’m not so sure it is so easy to tell the beginnings of a serious illness from ordinary “symptoms.”

Swine — This is simply untrue. Well, assuming you meant viruses. There’s a shitton of evidence that asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic folks are spreading the COVID-19 virus prolifically.

Guest

Reply to  Sigh Ants

No there isn’t. There is evidence that asymptomatic and presymptomatic people are producing virus. What has not been shown is that these people are contagious to others. “While asymptomatic transmission does occur, no one knows for sure how frequently it happens. Studies and models have suggested many of those infected never show symptoms. And it remains an open question whether they are a large force driving transmission.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2020/06/09/asymptomatic-coronavirus-spread-who/

“As for the people who never feel ill, it’s unclear how contagious they might be because researchers have a hard time documenting their transmission. The CDC estimates asymptomatic cases are 75 percent as infectious as symptomatic ones, but the agency cautions that this assumption is based on a murky understanding of what’s known as “viral shedding,” in which people unknowingly release contagious virus into the atmosphere.” https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/2020/07/why-do-asymptomatic-coronavirus-cases-even-happen-cvd/

But is is possible so mask wearing is being on side of probability rather certainty. No need to be snarky about saying so.

First, you’re right about the limited evidence for COVID but that’s largely an artifact of the novelty. There is plenty of anecdotal evidence (e.g. the Alder Bay cluster) that asymptomatic transmission is significant and studies have shown significant viral shedding by asymptomatic and presymptomatic people on a par with symptomatic folks.

Second, I was really writing more generally that asymptomatic, and particularly presymptomatic carriers are significant disease vectors (Typhoid Mary syndrome).

Third, Swine has earned a bit a snark.

HUMBOLDT ADDS 100 POSITIVE COVID CASES IN JULY AFTER TWO NEW CONFIRMED ON JULY 31

Is that headline click bait or old fashioned fear mongering? It’s real.

OK then click bait it is. Works fine and RHBB is being positive. The 4 Alder Bay deaths now attributed to the meth culture is the correct focal point. Without this individual’s gross negligence in carrying the plague, we’d have maybe 1 death.

I’ve said from the start, the other end of the numbers are telling the correct story. 100 July cases and 0 deaths.

Panic combined with ignorance is quite powerful, if you allow it to creep inside you. At least the panic stricken should stop the chicken-little crap.

Millions going homeless and begging for food? Let’s tell them it was all “for the greater good” I’m sure they’ll understand. The same society that bombs millions, uses slave labor (apple,Nike anyone) imprisons more people than anywhere else in the world all while hundreds of thousands of children are trafficked is so very concerned about health that they give their children amphetamines and ssri inhibitors, poison preservatives and pesticides in their food and sends their young men and women to die in banker’s wars but wants to convince us all they REALLY REALLY care about the health and well-being of others. Anyone not bending to the will of fear mongering media and politicians are the inconsiderate ones. Tinfoil hat? Nah I’ll take an old bandana to stay safe from the invisible enemies.

Also, the effects of 9/11 affect the entire country. From getting a pass port to having to take you shoes off to get on a plane. Not to mention the hoops involved in a lot transactions, legal and financial, that are required and tracked by the government.

No one seems to have been prepared for the economic fallout from this pandemic. For YEARS we have talked about how 60% or 40% (take your pick) of American families are one or two paychecks away from homelessness. No one has savings enough to deal with an unexpected bill of $500 dollars. The average American family is in $38,000 of NON MORTGAGE DEBT.
And now this. The government support ended yesterday. The eviction moritorium ended yesterday. And congress failed to act, you failed to save a dime and now you are ARGUING about whether or not to wear a mask?
I am glad I am not an “average American”
