Clarke Museum Offering Private Tours of Museum for Frontline Workers in July

This is a press release from the Clarke Museum:

To thank the workers who’ve been keeping us supplied and safe with their continued efforts, service, and sacrifice, the Clarke Museum is offering free tours to frontline workers and members of their households for the month of July. Tours are available at 11 am on Mondays and Tuesdays, when the museum is closed to the public, or by appointment on other dates and times also by appointment. Tours are an hour long.

Frontline workers include medical personnel, grocery store and restaurant workers, pharmacy workers, bus drivers, teachers, care home/in-home support workers, Food for People volunteers, and the families of those workers.

A tour of the museum is a chance to learn more about our region’s long and diverse history, from the local tribes who have been here since time immemorial to post-settlement communities and modern-day history. Through the tours and exhibits, the Clarke Museum celebrates the rich and varied history of Northwestern California by preserving, sharing, and interpreting that history in ways that increase knowledge, enrich the spirit, engage the mind, and stimulate the imagination. Tours are led by the museum’s trained and engaged volunteer tour docents.

Those interested in the Monday or Tuesday tours should reserve their date and time slot through Eventbrite here:  https://www.eventbrite.com/e/tours-for-frontline-workers-at-the-clarke-museum-tickets-112127343904 . Other dates or times can be arranged by calling the Clarke Museum at 707 443 1947 or via email at [email protected]. There will only be one household allowed per tour, and all attendees must wear masks while in the museum.

During the pandemic, the Clarke is open to the general public Wednesday through Sunday, 9 am to 4 pm. The Clarke Museum is located at 240 E Street in Old Town Eureka.
