[UPDATE 9:25 p.m.] Head On Crash in Westhaven, One Vehicle on Fire

Two vehicles–one a pickup, the other a red sedan–collided head on in the 1200 block of North Westhaven Drive near Westhaven about 5:54 p.m., according to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page.

The red sedan is on fire, according to the CHP page, and at least one person is injured.

An ambulance and Cal Fire as well as local fire departments are responding to the scene.

UPDATE 6:15 p.m.: The fire has been extinguished, according to the Incident Commander speaking over the scanner. There are two patients–one with minor injuries and one with a possible broken wrist.

UPDATE 9:25 p.m.: The CHP are reporting this is a major injury accident.

Another very nasty crash. Glad all involved will be fine. Thank you Cal Fire and the other local fire departments for you work. It is nice to know you are there when help is needed.
