Press release from the CHP:

On 07-07-2020 at approximately 1035 PM, Humboldt Area CHP was notified of a motorcycle collision on SR-36 east of Graybrook Lane. A preliminary investigation by CHP revealed that 39 year old Harry Smith, of Rio Dell, was driving his 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on SR-36, east of Graybrook Ln. 40 year old Lisa Jennings, of McKinleyville, was a passenger on the back of the motorcycle. For unknown reasons, Mr. Smith was unable to maintain control of the motorcycle and both riders were ejected and suffered major injuries. Emergency medical personnel transported both parties to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Alcohol is considered to have been a factor in this collision and Mr. Smith was placed under arrest for felony DUI. He was subsequently released from custody for treatment of his injuries.

The CHP Humboldt Area Office is investigating this collision and asks anyone with information to contact the Humboldt Area CHP Office at 707-822-5981 or send an email to [email protected].

Live to ride or ride to live.

Once alcohol crosses the pilot’s lips he’s a monster out to crash.

Ladies please, please never get on with a drinker.

The bike left a big long gouge in the pavement where it apparently slid. It was on a total straight stretch with no curves in sight.

I heard it was Bigfoot who crossed the road with little feet in tow . I know I would never want to hurt this legend of our land. Hope this pair of riders recover soon to let us arm chair punks know the truth….
