Blasting operations planned on Ward Curves Project on State Route 36 for Friday, June 5

Hwy 36 signPress release from Caltrans:

Blasting operations are planned for this Friday (June 5) on the Ward Curves Project on State Route 36, approximately 16 miles east of Platina in Tehama County. Due to rock formation in the area, blasting has been deemed as the most efficient method to remove the material.
Between the hours of 6 a.m. and 10 a.m., motorists can anticipate up to 2-hour delays in the area. The highway will be fully closed during these operations with no detour in the area. This work and scheduling may change at any time.
The Ward Curves Project is improving a curve and realigning the roadway on this portion of SR 36 in Tehama County. The project is currently anticipated to be complete by August.
In general, motorists can anticipate up to 15-minute delays in the area. 24/7 one-way traffic control is currently in effect on the project and is currently expected through mid-July. A speed limit reduction to 45 MPH is also in effect within the project limits.
Motorists travelling between Red Bluff and Fortuna should also be aware that full highway closures are again in effect on the Federal Realignment Project on SR 36, west of Dinsmore in Humboldt County. Usual highway closures for this project are: Mondays-Thursdays from 8 a.m to noon and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and on Fridays from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists can view areas of highway work and other conditions 24/7 via QuickMap.

Might as well close highway 36 for 2020 then. With all these worthless projects going on it’s a hell hole of a drive. Might I ask why none of the 5 closures on the 36 are worked on at night? The older I get the more I see the corruption in road construction.
