‘Racism and Discrimination Have No Place in our Community,’ Says Fortuna City Manager and Police Chief

public engagementThe Fortuna City Manager and Fortuna Police Chief offered the following message:

As our country and community continue be tested in ways that we have not seen in our lifetimes, it is important that we reflect on what the things are that we can control, including how we respond to challenges and how we treat each other. As a community we can always do better. Racism and discrimination have no place in our community. There will be lessons learned from the senseless killing of George Floyd and concern over implicit biases by our nation’s police. There is no doubt that our city will learn from these events, and implement ways to ensure everyone is treated equally and with respect. We are proud of our police department and know this is a priority for them as well. Our police complete trainings in cultural diversity, anti-discrimination, conflict de- escalation and resolution, and we have accountability measures in place to assure that our police department conducts their work in a fair and respectful way. Body-worn cameras to capture calls for service are activated at the beginning of each encounter with the public. Body-worn camera recordings can be used to review how the department handles calls for assistance and how our officers conduct themselves. We recognize that there is always more that can be done, and as a city we will find ways to prevent the type of incident that occurred in Minneapolis.

I am proud to see how our citizens, local leaders and law enforcement are standing up for justice and equality, and the City of Fortuna supports them in their efforts. We are committed to protecting and serving our community and continuing to earn their trust.

I commend Fortuna PD and the City of Fortuna on their quick and reliable service. I have never encountered anyone that shows disrespect to another individual. Laws are put in place for our protection. If such protest should get out of hand, I expect our officers to remove those causing the disruption in a fair and timely manner. We are the Friendly City. As a long-time citizen, I want to keep it that way! May this be a peaceful protest for all concerned…

The protest scheduled for Fortuna will likely be peaceful compared to Eureka. The poster advertising the protest actually used a handshake between white and black hands as it’s symbol instead of the fist used by BLM. They must understand a handshake is more unifying than a fist!

The fist symbol did not originate in the BLM movement (but they do use it), it’s the black power symbol created during the civil rights movement. Why do you need to nit-pick a symbol when the message is the same: make black people equal and empowered. Check your privilege, sir.

How do you know Alf has “privilege”?

Perhaps Alf is a disabled black female.

Check your assumptions?

I’m laughing. On that note, I’ll call it a night. Sweet dreams. I need more laughter…. and less rage. Peace Ms Kym.
PS. I get the protests, I do, it all makes sense . Trump is full of shit. Pelosi is full of shit. The cops are full of shit. Fight for freedom. It’s the only true fight that will unite us all. Freedom.

If you want equality, yet you use a black fist for black power, don’t condemn the white fist of white power. I don’t care what the history of the symbol is, I care how it’s used. BLM has never been about unity. It is about looking for any reason to cause a riot in the name of protest. They are black supremacists with no less of a misguided hate than white supremacists. More unarmed black men are likely killed by BLM than cops.
Everyone seems to want empowerment. Empower minorities. Empower women. Empower, empower, empower. How about empower police officers to keep the peace? How about empower ICE to deport illegal immigrants. How about empower US Border Agents to do their jobs and keep drug dealers and other illegals out of the country in the first place. How about parents empowering their children to grow up without indoctrination of hate. How about empowering college students who are conservative to live without fear of liberals destroying their property.
You all claim to want unity, so start by showing the love for one another you claim instead of exhibiting the hate you really have.

Alf, have you had your coffee yet this morning? You are making some pretty wild claims, which I doubt you could back up with evidence of any kind. Where did you get the idea that BLM members are Black supremacists, much less members of a hate group? Have they been lynching White folks? Also, has there been a crime wave on campus of liberals destroying the property of conservative students? Do tell, please.
By the way, before you accuse me of being a bleeding heart self-hating white liberal, turn off Fox and take a deep breath. Some of us see the need for real reform in police training, tactics and community relations, and aren’t advocates of rioting, racial animus or looting.

I’ve often wondered what year in college they teach you the phrase “check your privelage”, is it between the socialists class and the one on environmental ethics that teaches you to outslope all roads? Or is it after the economics class on progressive tax rates that teach you 10 plus 10 equals 198 trillion? I’ve never in my life heard someone in person say “check your privelage” it’s only on the internet that even exists.

Now copy this, filling in your county and send it to the police chief of your city:

Without CLEAR and CONCISE LANGUAGE that demonstrates a commitment to REMOVE ANY TRACE OF RACISM FROM YOUR DEPARTMENT, you are not making the progress necessary to change the situation in the culture of policing in these OUR UNITED STATES.
To the chiefs of all county law enforcement & the sheriff.

We understand that this problem is not yours alone and the DISTRICT ATTORNEY and the JUDGES OF ____________ COUNTY must also MAKE THIS COMMITMENT to the CITIZENS THAT ELECTED YOU.

The time has come.

No one should have to make the statement I just made – YOU SHOULD BE RISING TO THE OCCASION.

Interesting. Anytime Fortuna plays a team from Richmond/Oakland, you feel like those teams will be killed. It has reared it’s head several times, and even the principal and others in the community seem to support the racism.

So, the leaders and parents in the community support racism, then the children will continue to do so.

Prove it wrong, Fortuna!

If you want to see evidence of racism in Fortuna, read the comments on Facebook in response to the Fortuna Police Department’s public service announcement of a peaceful protest taking place in Fortuna on June 5, 2020 at 6:00 pm.
It’s no surprise the City Manager and Police Chief had to make this statement TODAY.
The “Friendly” City is not so friendly…

Words from the founder of liveleak:

“My wife was fully aware at the time, of course. I don’t imagine she was over the moon, but this was something I believe in. Sometimes ignorant people should be able to have a voice. I believed in that. But, I’ve got a kid now, so I don’t know.”

Follow the money.

CONSOLIDATION.

This is an economic financial redistribution and power consolidation prologue. If we become over consumed by the very visible show we may miss the opportunity to call out tax exempt foundations. You want this experiment burned to the ground? Have you really considered what the new vision will look like to you? A very white person who might be asked to give up more than words and lip services to pay for this apocalypse destructive nature that has been brewing below the surface.https://www.cnbc.com/2020/06/04/cramer-the-pandemic-led-to-a-great-wealth-transfer.htmlI don’t think this can be overlooked by those who are struggling to put food on the table, and keep a roof over ones head,  no matter how much virtue signaling and self hate is projected into the conversation, Class warfare is winning. Many of us will lose. The victims of this year’s Trojan Horse, will see violence and destruction and theft as the means to their end. https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/saker-systemic-collapse-us-society-has-begun

//‘Racism and Discrimination Have No Place in our Community,’ Says Fortuna City Manager and Police Chief //

Is this meant to be a joke?

It’s an old-old idea that’s severely worn and tattered. Spouting feel-good messages doesn’t move the ball. The correct quote or headline shouldn’t be about the impossible dream of equality but, state a fact after the accomplishment.

Racism and discrimination are prospering in our community, and has been a long time.

Merritt Perry, Fortuna City Manager

I thought it was important for the city to share that racism and discrimination have no place in the community. Not making a statement leaves uncertainty as to the city’s position. We operate the city with this as an ideal. Yes words are easy. there is more our city and every city can and should do. We will learn from this and incorporate what we learn into how we do business and to be a better city.

If your statement was genuine then why were YOU not present at the rally? Why didn’t the Police Chief speak at the rally?
The absence of all but one council member, the Police Chief, and the City Manager speaks volumes.
If anything changes in Fortuna it will be the result of brave and courageous citizens who dare to move forward while city officials exude disagreement through their absence.
Mr. Perry actions speak far louder than homogenized press releases.

Racism isn’t unconscious. We see it every time we have the courage to speak with the person in the bathroom mirror. If you don’t recognize it, look deeper. Denying personal racism is foolish. If you can’t find your own racist content then, a lifestyle change might be indicated.

There’s no such thing as an ANTIFA organization. ANTIFA doesn’t actually exist. ANTIFA is a tactic or strategy at most. It has NEVER been an organization. Traitor Trump is a moron.

Now the GOP however is definitely an organized anti-American terrorist organization. And they’re idiots too!

PUTIN PIDOR!
