Anna Maria Moore: Remembered for her Generosity, Boisterous Laugh, and Skilled Storytelling

Anna Maria Moore (ne McCandless) was born in Ottawa Kansas to Wilbert McCandless and Violetta Ferfoglia. She was one of four children. From a military family, Ann also lived in Las Vegas, Germany, and Italy during her childhood.

Ann is survived by her Son, Shawn (Naomi) Ledet, her two grandchildren Aiya Ledet, and Isaac Ledet (of Sacramento). Her grandkids were her Pride and Joy, and they loved their Nonna. Ann is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her sister Roxanne McCandless, and her brothers Bill and Raymond McCandless.

Ann was a dedicated worker whose careers and education at both Sacramento City College and, later in life- Humboldt State University- made her many lifelong friends. Ann was a single Mom who fulfilled her dream of moving to Humboldt county after her Son was grown, graduated HSU with a Bachelors in Business, and went on to have a career there. The beaches and forests of Humboldt were beloved by her for many years, and she was a huge fan of the climate and culture of the North Coast.

She is remembered for her generosity, boisterous laugh, and skilled storytelling. If you knew her, you may remember sharing a game of bingo with her, listening to The Rolling Stones with her, or sharing a meal- of which there was always plenty of food. Our mother, friend, and Nonna is dearly missed. Due to Covid, her directives will be carried out at a future time.
