Rain Dampens SoHum Protesters Signs But Not Their Spirits

Umbrellas and masks protected about twenty Southern Humboldt protesters from the downpour as they gathered during a pandemic to express their anger at injustice in general but most specifically at the death of a man across the nation from them last Monday.
George Floyd died while being arrested by Minneapolis, Minnesota police officers. A video showing his death went viral and sparked riots across the nation.
Protesters, most trying to socially distance and wear masks, expressed anger at the officers and at the system. Talia Rose, a local photographer who captured these photos and videos says while it was pretty wet the protesters remained undaunted. “It was really raining,” she said. “So many cars were honking in support…Only one person yelled something unpleasant.”
Ernie Branscomb, local business owner and former logger, tersely pointed out to Rose why he was there on a rainy day. “Good cops, yes,” he said. “Bad cops, no.”
Agnes Patak, a native woman who has produced the “Heart of the Earth” Native radio programming on KMUD for over 30 years, spoke about how she was concerned that outside agitators were sparking damage especially to buildings housing Native nonprofits that help all people of color. But that she supported the protests as it is a cry from all the people of color who have been oppressed.
This protester from Minnesota says she is in solidarity with the protesters there. She says she has friends who were hit by rubber bullets. “We can’t let this happen any more,” she tells an interviewer

What’s going on at the protest in Eureka? It looks like a very angry mob and the police are just driving around in circles like they don’t know what to do.
Remember, the only reason we even know about George Floyd is because he died. This kind of thing happens to black men in America every day and is not reported because they didn’t die.

Hmmmm So now there is rioting in every major city in the US . Military is stepping in and is issuing curfew. Marshal law next? In every major city? Curfews? Conspiracy? What’s next? Covid 19 is just the beginning and we all are just where the governments wants us. Afraid, angry, divided and yes, under control. We are not only participating but complying to exactly where the government wants us. Keep continuing because none of this will be in our favor. Sorry for my pessimistic approach, but I also call my self a realist. Most of what you are witnessing is planned, and has been planned.We are the experiment.
So thankful that I’m able to tune into this blog and have you there everyday explaining the madness FOG, I encourage you to start a youtube channel, PLEASE.

I would think that the police were told not to get involved unless it was necessary. A large angry crowd could turn on the officer’s and all hell would break out. If the protestor’s attacked the police they will end up in jail or the morgue. This country is going bull shit crazy over Mr. Floyd’s officer induced dead. There is no need to riot, set fires, attack people, etc. I really don’t think that Mr. Floyd would want that. One other interesting item is that he kept telling the officers I can’t breathe. If you are being choked to death how can you speak? All the officer’s there should receive prison time for just standing and watching and doing nothing. Black lives matter just as much as white lives. This crazy crap needs to stop!
He should have said, I Can Barely breathe. Then you would be happy.

Get it out of your heads that tbis is about floyd or his color, that is a spark to a much larger problem, if we focus that this is a race tgibg it will just keep happenibg and we have to look at it as it is, this halppens to the poor, any color, any gender, the poor against the rich, the ones getting taxed to death for the high class living of the few. I am a white guy tgat was once a white kid from the barrio of san Diego in the early 90’s with cartels on every corner akd im tellibg you they dont give a shit about race, if you’re poor i.e. not in the club, you are cattle to be treated as they please, they will take what they please and tax the ones trying to do ok for themselves till they are making just enough to eat and shelter themselves. If we keep ourselves divided we will fail, tgis is a class war and out if it we will lose all our freedom and have much less chance of getting it back. This would require everyone to quit blindly raging against the machine and do something like find out information on issues and politics from unbiased and multiple sources.
I was born in 1975 right before the tech boom. Before internet. You heard about news from your local TV newspaper and just whoever told you their version of news. Its 2020 people! Its not hard to get on the net and examine issues from multiple angles from multiple sources, giving you those puzzle pieces to put the big picture together.
But nope, that takes too much effort. Americans in the last 20 years or so have became so lazy they just rather let things be and cry and rage and flail around like little babies. Grow the fuck people burning down a store because your too lazy is bullshit.
We as Americans are getting played right now hard from multiple sources both inside and outside our border. Stop and if you want real unity as per your protests, then work with your community members of all races and get this bullshit changed…..or just see you next tantrum.

Seeing batons crushing young women and men of all ethnic backgrounds in LA live on cnn ,engaged in nonviolent protest is sickening.

Most states only differentiate murder into 1st and 2nd degree, Minnesota has 3rd degree which is basically manslaughter with a max sentence of 25y or fine. Or both. But often carries only 12 y. Protesters call for life without parole. That’s not happening.

CNN went to hell after they pushed out Ted Turner and Don Lemon is totally racist… but if you want to hear a responsible Democrat this would be my choice although I can’t understand why she’s a democrat.
Atlanta Mayor Bottoms addressed the crowds both as a mayor and a mother.
“I am a mother to four black children in America, one of whom is 18 years old,” Bottoms said. “When I saw the murder of George Floyd, I hurt like a mother.”
When she heard of the potential of protests, Bottoms said she called her son to find out where he was.
“I said, ’I cannot protect you and black boys shouldn’t be out today,'” she said.
Her message to protesters: “You’re not going to out-concern me … about where we are in America. I wear this each and every day.”
Bottoms’ remarks were widely praised.
“Her passion, her empathy and her strong and steady leadership are shining through during this difficult moment, and the city of Atlanta is lucky to have her leading the way,” Ducklo said.
Georgia Rep. Doug Collins, a conservative Republican ally of President Donald Trump, tweeted that the mayor had issued a “strong” statement.

The 50-year-old Bottoms was elected mayor in 2017 and previously served on the City Council. During a recent interview with The Associated Press before the protest, she spoke of Atlanta as a “special place where people of color are able to break traditional molds and change the landscape of who we are as a country.”
Biden would do well to chose her for VP instead of the buffoon Stacey Abrams,
but that will never happen.

Bringing in the military is exactly what they will do in Minneapolis. And they should. And hopefully it will put a stop to the chaos.
170 buildings have been vandalized, robbed or outright demolished. The city/state resources are tapped out, and even WITH the natl guard they are unable to do much on an offensive in terms of arrests.
Endangering more lives is ignorant and accomplishes nothing .
The gov of Minnesota is well aware of the tactic of the protesters (or infiltrators) of elevating the riotous tone to the point of inciting violence against themselves. They might get what they are asking for.

A real protest by POC to me would be for POC to apply at police departments and become the police. Then they would have more control over how policing is applied.
Of course that would require more work and less looting.
I stand completely if favor of prosecuting the criminals cops that murdered Floyd, and in favor of prosecuting every looter they can capture.
