Late tonight, showers will roll into the North Coast. By tomorrow, rainfall could potentially get quite heavy, according to the National Weather Service.

According to the Flash Flood Watch issued, “Streams may rapidly rise early Saturday morning and low lying areas may flood. This may also cause street flooding.” The Weather Service also recommends avoiding camping “near creeks or steep canyons, as water levels may rise quickly in heavy rain!”

Below is a computer model simulation of radar posted on Facebook by the National Weather Service in Eureka. You can use it to determine when to expect rain to begin falling in your area and when the heaviest rain will fall also.

1:30 a.m. SAT May 30 severest hail storm I have ever seen in Fortuna. Lasted about 15 min in the Rohnerville District. 1/2″ size hail stones. Impressive. Followed by fairly heavy rain.
