Hopefully the rescue is successful and the injuries are not too severe.

This is unclear one report says “swimmer is out of the water’ and latest report does not seem to indicate he was found

The swimmer is the rescue swimmer (not the hiker).

Isnt this the same or close to same area a woman lost her life after going off trail and slipping, which sent her down into crevice. I think Kai was the kind soul who retrieved her body, it was very technical.
Theres nowhere to go but against rocks if you fall in the water off the trail to the north of parking lot.

Hoping for best but man thats not a good sign if swimmer exited water alone.
Thanks to all who responded.

Not sure about this but I believe that you are referring to an incident at Patrick’s Point (maybe Wedding Rock area).
If memory serves correctly though, I seem to recall a young college student (ironically) falling off the bluff at College Cove not too long ago.

Hoping for a happy ending this time.

sadly people constantly vandalize the park signs with warnings and regulations so many are unawares of the dangers and rules to protect safety of people and resources. Please stop vandalizing park signs.

You are so right!
People also need to take heed of the signs that aren’t vandalized. I could cite multiple examples. As a local surfer, I know the danger of the undertow at any of the beaches along the lagoons…very inviting but incredibly deceptive. Another favorite of mine is one warning people not to approach elk because they are wild animals…but they are so adorable and docile!

…did they ever find the last guy that fell off at College Cove? I think a little over a year ago…?

They are still searching. If there is a person somewhere in the water hypothermia would have set in long ago.

Shotgun? So you can breach the waves to get back to shore?

“Jo Biden” Pretty tacky to make jest of a situation like this. Based on description of incident it seems highly likely that a family has lost a loved one.
