Kym, the majority are ASYMPTOMATIC! That is not sick.
The fact that we’re calling healthy people who have no symptoms and happened to test positive using a faulty test that is not testing for a virus, but rather an RNA “remnant” that is “believed” to be left behind by “the virus”……….is just plain stupid!
Wake up folks, we are being played like a fiddle.

Such a smart comment, grounded in common sense. I am glad to see eyes are open to the fact that this is more social engineering than real threat. However, there are still a number of very frightened people out there. Do you not resent being played?

Link below is to a very sane commentor from Britain. I saw Dr. Colemen on another comment recently and appreciate his input. He’s talking about the UK but you can connect the dots.
Please give him a listen if you are undecided. Fear Not!

The criteria for getting a test are either having symptoms or being required to provide services to vulnerable populations. Most asymptomatic instances do not get recorded as confirmed cases.

RNA remnants are a fully valid indication that someone has been infected with COVID-19, symptomatic or otherwise.

Thirdeye, you are mistaken……..the inventor of RT-PCR test, Kary B. Mullis, who won a nobel prize for this test, stated that it CANNOT be used for disease diagnosis……..it is only suitable as a manufacturing and research tool……..

See link below for an good article about this test, it’s history, uses, and flaws.

Maybe when no one comments on the latest covid test, there will be less interest in day to day. Maybe she can move towards a weekly update.

Let’s not get caught up in the number, let’s focus on what the government is going to do with the freedom issue of these pesky freedom minded people.

Operation warp speed is looking to shock and awe our freedoms and rights back to the dark ages.

Sure.
Of the 2798 tests 3.3% have come back positive.
Of the 2798 tests 0.07% have ended in death.
Of the confirmed cases 2 out of 3 have recovered.
Against the whole county 94 cases represents 0.07%.
And the 2 deaths represent 0.0015%.

The same individuals are often tested more than once. The number of tests is thus not the number of individuals tested. Also, a test is a specific point in time, and does not mean someone will never be infected. In fact, just about any math using tests as the denominator is entirely useless.

The numbers I offered are still accurate. I didn’t assume it was a 1:1 persons to tests which is why I specifically said “tests”… it’s the numbers the county is offering, if you have others please share.

There are 3,007 counties in the US.

If you count independent cities, perishes, boroughs, census areas and DC, the total is 3,143.

So what is the current state of the USA? Businesses shut down by state government FORCING a depression economy.

Brian, open your eyes! We can’t stay in lockdown mode forever. Mom and pop businesses are being forced to close because they weren’t deemed essential. How many have gone under during this time?

Corporate businesses were allowed to operate with impunity. How many people haven’t worked in over two months? Does $1200 cover bills and rent during that period? It doesn’t for me or anyone else I know. What about individuals who haven’t yet received or can’t get unemployment monies? What are they supposed to do?

What do you think all of these bailouts will do to the value of money? Are you ok with bankrupting future generations because ‘You got yours’? If inflation kills the dollar, do you think your retirement fund won’t be affected?

You’re in serious denial if you can’t see how this is hurting everyone. Just wait six months from now when the real reprocussions from this shutdown emerge. There’s going to be a global recession for years. Maybe a decade or more.

Covid is a concern for many, but the health of the economy affects ALL of us.

And over 350,000,000 million Americans did not die in April. If you are going to wave a death figure as some sort of chastisement to shut people up who disagree with you- although exactly what the disagreement is unclear- at least use reasonable figures. The average number of deaths for an April in the US is about 55,000. The CDC estimates the count will come in at about 69,000. So the number of deaths in excess of average presumably created by the pandemic is about 14,000. In other words, of the 60,000 that you keep saying died of covid-19, 46,000 were going to die of other things anyway. Not that the issue should be reduced to so crass a bean counter level but that is your thing and apparently can’t avoided.

Of course, nothing that you seem to be insisting on was possible anyway. And a good share if that excess death figure is directly related to the New York Governor deciding to make nursing home accept covid-19 patients who no longer needed hospital services but were still infectious. He’s now saying that decision was because of the levels of hospitalizations the scientist experts told him he had to make room for.

… “In other words, of the 60,000 that you keep saying died of covid-19, 46,000 were going to die of other things anyway. “. I can’t tell if you’re trolling, or you actually are so utterly incapable of logical thought that you believe that that’s how it works.

I mean, the very site you linked to shows 20,000 extra deaths _per week_… And there’s only a .02% overlap between covid deaths and all deaths, so it’s not that all expected deaths would be subtracted, but rather than .02% would be subtracted… and countless other reasons why every single word of that is flat-out stupid.

In other words, just stating the loss of US lives in a month to a new virus being downplayed by Trump and the extremely unreasonable faction of the right is enough to make you feel like I just told you to shut-up?

A gentleman was riding in a hot air balloon when he passed over some low clouds. When he could see the ground again, he realized he didn’t know where he was. Letting out some of the hot air, he descended, and fortunately settled down gently over a field where a family was eating lunch. He yelled out “Good day, could you please tell me where I am?”. The head of the family immediately responded “You’re in a hot air balloon just over a field.” After a rather long pause, he called back “You do realize that’s utterly useless, right?” And the head of the family replied with “But it’s still accurate!”

Maybe we could lighten up on the masks, other Cali. Counties are.

Ones with a larger population.

“ Face coverings now optional in San Bernardino County following new health order,

So far, 2,629 have tested positive and 111 residents have died,” there.

They should be parsing out the people who have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 from those who actually get COVID-19. It’s similar to the difference between HIV and AIDS, one is a virus and the other is a disease caused by the virus. It looks like most who contract SARS-CoV-2 do not develop COVID-19.

hrmm, OK, something is broken, and every time I post a reply it’s going to the bottom of the thread instead of the post I’m replying to. I’ll delete the failed attempts…

“You’re right. It was not what I said it was. I would be apologetic except your remarks are rude that all I can be is angry at myself for losing track of which timeframes I was talking about because I gave you an opportunity to be worse than usual. Of course, it was karma for my own snark. I’ll be back after I’ve digested the crow.”

I’m not usually that rude, but I’m sick of people intentionally mis-manipulating numbers. Claiming that the normal number of deaths can be subtracted from the number of covid-19 deaths has nothing to do with timeframes. Since such a small percentage of the population die normally each month, and a small percentage of people have died from covid-19 that month, there’s very little overlap between these two categories – I estimated 0.02%. The vast majority of people who have died from covid-19 in a month would not have normally died in that month. Claiming otherwise is not based on anything resembling science or logic, and could only be done to intentionally mislead people, or through a complete non-understanding of math or statistics.

People live, people love, people die.

If you aren’t a healthy human being, areally deficient in health, you may need western medical intervention.

Healthy people who could over Come virus are meant to Survive, and pass along the antibodies, and good genetics to their children.

If you are so concerned about life and saving people, maybe think about how babies are aborted every year.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abortion_statistics_in_the_United_States

It could be argued that most of those deaths were preventable.

It could be said that you are protecting life when it suits you as an Individual.

For a moment when I was reading this over I was surprised you were kindly going to let my seriously foolish mistake go without more insult. That was a surprise… Ended by further reading. Whew! It was only a momentary hope that magnanimity would raise the level of discussion above insult.

I still don’t know why I went down that wrong road- and it was a brain fart of the first order- because I have always acknowledged covid-19 was a serious disease- just not of the level to merit the fear mongering, division and dangerous over reaction of mass quarantining that is doomed to fail and will end up making it worse for everyone.

Dr Francovich, ( Nazi pawn)
Why is Humboldt County the only county required to wear masks? Why are businesses requiring debit card purchases only? Do you realize the many ways you are killing our economy? What the actual fuck is going on here? Why is there no press coverage on the fact that RELIGIOUS SANCTITIES ARE NOW DEEMED ESSENTIAL BY THE PRESIDENT AND NOT ONE NEWSPAPER OR LOCAL NEWS SOURCE HAS COVERED THIS? WHY ARE YOU NOT INFORMING PEOPLE THAT COVID IS NOT SPREAD ON SURFACES!!?!?!!? This as per the CDC!! Where the hell do you get off scaring people into a submissive lifestyle? Our county is NOT a place to do science experiments on people’s willingness to conform to a totalitarian govt. You’re such a fake! Go back to Nazi Germany and leave us alone. And to all you people who can’t see the forest from the trees, you’re losing your freedoms little by little on a daily basis. Do you want masks, daily mandatory tests and vaccines, a cashless society, segregation of people, not being able to travel, no music, food shortages, no education, no socialization, increased crime and poverty, and the breakdown of our economy and our freedom the new normal? Because that is EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE!! Your compliance with all these experimental regulations are what is going to keep them around forever. How can people just shrug their shoulders and be okay with this?!?! Sacramento and every other major city’s regulations in this state is nothing like our county! Why is that?? We have tons more space and waaay less populous. Not only that, flu season is fuckin over!!

The link you gave said “In line with the CDC and California Department of Public Health recommendations on face coverings, Mendocino County Health Officer Dr. Noemi Doohan recommends that everyone who leaves their home for an essential activity wears a face covering, such as a mask, scarf, bandana, or similar garment. Most importantly, everyone should continue to remain home except for when conducting essential activities, and practice social distancing of 6 feet when outside of their homes, in addition to frequent hand washing.” Is recommending the same as mandating?

I do not consider Mendocino in the same realm of San Fran, Redding or Sac ( to which I am sure there are others, you know , actual metropolis’s). Mendo is actually the closest thing to Humboldt, well, since Humboldt. They are probably being unwillingly subject to this mask regimen follow watching us.
