Major Injury Accident on Hwy 299

A single motorcycle crashed on Hwy 299 between Burnt Ranch and Big Bar west of Hayden Flat about 1:20 p.m. today. The rider was unconscious but breathing when a report was made to the CHP and posted on the Traffic Information Page.

The patient was flown to Mercy Hospital.

Later, the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page, reported the patient had major injuries.

  • That is a sad read. I pray that they got the rider to the hospital in time, and they will recover from their injuries. You have little to no protection when your bike hits the pavement. Glad another vehicle did not hit them when down. Thank you to all the first responders for your loving and dedicated work.

  • I saw someone post on Facebook that there was someone punching motorcycles out of cars today ….perhaps they are the culprit!
