No New Positive COVID-19 Tests in Humboldt County: April 8 Results

April 8 Public Health Lab reportPress release from Humboldt County COVID19 – Joint Information Center:

Humboldt County’s COVID-19 case count remains at 50 as no additional positive cases were confirmed today.

Means of transmission have been identified in all 50 cases. Contact investigations conducted to date indicate 23 had contact with a known case and 20 had traveled outside of the county. A total of seven cases were acquired through community transmission.

Humboldt County Health Officer Dr. Teresa Frankovich said it was too soon to say for certain, but she was hopeful that Public Health’s aggressive contact investigations and subsequent isolation and quarantine procedures, in combination with community efforts in complying with shelter-in-place orders and other measures. is having an impact on slowing local transmission. “I thank everyone for their cooperation to date and going forward,” Frankovich said. “We know there will be increasing numbers of cases throughout our county over time. An important measure of success is whether we are able to slow the increase enough to ensure appropriate health care is available when our residents need it.”

For the most up-to-date COVID-19 information, visit cdc.gov or cdph.ca.gov. Local information is available at humboldtgov.org or during business hours by contacting [email protected] or calling 707-441-5000.

Notes on patient and demographic data

To protect the identity of people with COVID-19, their specific location of residence will not be disclosed. The Humboldt County Public Health Branch is legally responsible for protecting personal health information, including residence address, specific age, recent travel, the identities and locations of any contacts, the provider of medical treatment, the course of illness and any other information that might identify an individual with or exposed to the virus unless it serves the interests of public health to do so.

Although we understand it is of interest to residents, providing location and demographic information to the general public does nothing to slow the spread of illness. Humboldt County is experiencing untraceable person-to-person transmission, also known as “community spread,” and there is no place that can be considered safe. To reduce your chances of acquiring or spreading COVID-19, avoid travel, wash your hands, keep yourself and your environment clean, follow the shelter-in-place order, and do not leave home for any reason unless it is absolutely necessary to do so.

The following case information is provided daily Monday through Saturday:

  • New positive cases
  • Total positive cases to date
  • Total hospitalizations to date

  • Total commercial lab tests to date
  • Public Health Lab test capacity, total and daily, and estimated turnaround time

I try to get as much information as I can from numerous sources. I try television and many internet sites. I even went to infowars on banned.video. I have noticed the run on ammo in the United states. Try to make your own opinion. Information is power

If information is power, Alex Jones is weaker than a newborn baby in a prison cell.

Take off your blinders, what part of numerous sources don’t you see? You like to pick one thing and make a rant on it! Some are so full of themselves and repetitive on the same thing!

This is the government attempt of FULL takeover and end to the constitution

You have a RIGHT TO ASSEMBLY

Theres no clause in the constitution that it can be put on hold.

EXERCISE YOUR MIND AND YOUR RIGHTS

As a gun owner in California to someone upset about your rights being infringed upon, “first time huh?”

You and Kenny should go about your lives as normal. Natural selection.

I’ll join em. Would rather die of natural selection than a prisoner/slave. I believe self reliance and personal freedom subsides over any government induced fears. The government does not have to take your rights away, all they have to do is suggest it……sheep don’t know that fences are put up around them as long as there is enough pasture land to feed off of. When the grass runs out they happily run single file into the slaughter chute where at the end is a bowl of grain and a butcher knife.

it’s your legal right to lick door handles. doesn’t mean it’s wise. you have a legal right to assemble, but not necessarily assemble for a 5 keg party with loud music after 3 am in Arcata. you can buy own and shoot guns in California just fine, just not anywhere anytime. Nobody is stopping you from standing around in public. If you are by yourself, its just because nobody wants to hang with you.

Gun rights are infringed on about as much as your rights to assemble are. Silly. I’m sitting on a legal arsenal that would have been unimaginable 100 years ago. What is a reasonable upper limit on weapons? 50 cal? Rocket launcher? Tactical Nuke? Is anybody stopping you from burying a 30 round magazine in cosmoline till you need it? I can go into Big 5 and buy a gun that will bump fire without any mechanical intervention, as fast as a full auto, if I want to waste ammo. As long as you don’t go driving around your weapons drunk, road raging the hood , car full of drugs, you’re gonna be fine.

Its dangerous to call the whole disease a hoax, but i get where you are coming from.. While i think the virus is real it is certainly being used to exercise and stretch the arms of govt powrr and control, scare tactics and disruption of our rights, and that is the hoax.. That they are using a new virus to scare and control.. And it may not b as bad or scary as they and the media want it to be.. But the sheep cluster and follow..

So, Just hypothetically, lets say there is a real virus outbreak that especially kills 50-something year-olds. What would be your Ideal government response? What would a Strong-Man Dictatorship do? What would a group of Anarchists do? What would you do about Citizens who just avoided crowds on their own, or private businesses, who shut down on their own for whatever reason?
