[UPDATE 11:56 a.m.: Chains Required on 3 & 36] Snow in the Mountains and Rain Elsewhere
Snow is falling in the highest mountains of the Emerald Counties. The video above taken by Ed Johnson shows the snow fall this morning in the hills above the Ruth Lake Dam.
Below are the predicted areas of snowfall on Hwy 36 and on 299.
However, snow is falling at Oregon Mountain but not yet on Buckhorn Summit at 9:52 a.m.
The National Weather Service predicts showers for the lower areas through Sunday and into Monday.
UPDATE 11:31 a.m.: Chains are required on Hwy 36 from east of Mad River to west of Forest Glen.
UPDATE 11:56 p.m.: Chains are required on Hwy 3 roughly from 9 miles north of Hayfork to 8 miles south of Douglas City.
