Dustin Nantz Receives Excellence Award for Service with Humboldt County Drug Task Force

Special Agent Dustin Nantz is awarded the Excellence Award for meritorious service while assigned to the Humboldt County Drug Task Force for the period of January 1, 2019 through October 31st, 2019.

The Excellence Award is given for any action that brings credit to the individual, the Department and or/fellow employees through outstanding job performance.

Citation:

On August 30, 2019, Special Agent Dustin Nantz, while serving with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force, served a search warrant on a vehicle in southern Humboldt where 20 pounds of methamphetamine was seized. Special Agent Nantz worked this target for several weeks, during which time, he was able to conduct a controlled “Confidential Informant” buy of illegal narcotics, along with obtaining a cellphone “Ping” warrant. These investigative steps led to the suspect’s arrest and the apprehension of a long-time drug dealer in Humboldt County. Special Agent Nantz worked diligently on this investigation and his efforts led to the largest one-time seizure of methamphetamine in the history of the Humboldt County Drug Task Force.

Special Agent Nantz’ supervisor, Humboldt County Drug Task Force Sergeant Jesse Taylor, stated, “Special Agent Nantz continues to be a team leader in narcotics seizures and his professional commitment to his craft is recognized. He’s doing a phenomenal job and is one of the best agents we have.”

During the period of January 1, 2019 through October 31st, 2019 Special Agent Nantz’ was credited with seizing 12 firearms, 27 pounds of Methamphetamine, 2.8 pounds of Heroin, 26.70 grams of Cocaine, and 2.5 pounds of Prescription Narcotics.

Special Agent Nantz’ actions displayed outstanding job performance and competency as a narcotics investigator which brings credit upon himself, the Eureka Police Department, the City of Eureka and the County of Humboldt.

Thanks for adding more non violent people to the “system” who battle drug addiction when they really need tools to stay sober if they are ready instead jail , probation and fines in the thousands$$ are the future they have to not look forward to
