I don’t know if I find the idea of toddlers using karate interesting or worrisome. I can’t picture those littlest ones finding it easy to keep themselves from tipping over. But if they can, are they of an age to understand that Mother should never be hit?

Martial arts teaches self-disciple and self confidence. The ability to hit is always of less value than the ability to know when to hit. My youngest started when he was four I think but I know kids who started even younger. My two oldest boys are black belts. I’ve never been sorry that they had the tools they learned in martial arts. I gathered the self-confidence to start my own business in part from martial arts. Martial arts shouldn’t be shoved on the unwilling but…every child can benefit if they have a good teacher.
