Irks the hell outta me when I hear about a pedestrian injured or killed by one of these idiots in their cars! I cannot remember how many times I’ve almost been hit crossing the street. And in most instances the drivers were looking right at me. They were doing it maliciously. Too many people ending up in wheel chairs or coffins at the hands of people who maybe shouldn’t even be driving. Like, in Europe, they don’t hand out driver licences like craft paper to children. You gotta go through this school for the privilege of driving.

You might want to check the “earlier” link, which says this guy was playing in traffic in the fast lane on the highway. The problem isn’t the people in cars.

It didn’t say what time of day, color of clothes or anything that might insinuate the driver was at fault so I think your a little to hard on a driver’s part in this vary unfortunate situation
However I do agree about a few idiots on the road but you can’t fix stupid. Just hope it doesn’t take any innocents out

Too hard on the driver? Now, who would that be?

The driver is the only one who can answer your questions, North west.

John, your comment is completely uncalled for. The person was walking on the highway. The man that hit him tried to avoid the collision but was unable to do so. Put the blame where it belongs, on the person walking on the highway at night with dark clothing. My info comes from the CHP. I feel sorry for both of them, but I am more sorry for the young man that hit him. A memory he will never forget!!

🕯🌳So did the vehicle stop or just keep on going? Prayers and condolences to the victim but what about the driver?🇺🇸⚖

Jeeze people! Read the previous article if you can’t figure this out. It states who the driver was, the type of vehicle, speed of said vehicle, and the driver’s description of what happened.
You know, for those who spend every day reading and commenting on this blog you really should give more attention to detail before blurting your two cents worth.

Willie, The pickup truck driver, after trying to avoid hitting that man, came to a stop and stayed there as long as needed by the CHP.

I am frequently amazed how willing folks are to comment on the HEADLINE, without reading the article. All the information about this pedestrian death, including the remorse of the driver, was in the first article.

There is a serious problem with pedestrians getting hit and killed .My landlord was hit in a crosswalk and killed. She was a wonderful person. In the bay area 2 to 3 pedestrians are killed in crosswalks every week. People need to be more careful and be aware of what is going on outside their car. Yield to pedestrians even if they are not in the crosswalk or are being stupid.

When a tragedy happens, we always want to blame someone. It makes us feel safer if we can say it was a bad driver or a reckless pedestrian. It helps us to avoid understanding that that tragedy can strike any of us at any time, and that often if not most of the time, no one is really to blame. Unfortunately, this attitude can get in the way of treating each other with the compassion that I know we would all like to be treated with when it is our own families suffering the tragedy.

In 1995 I dropped some LSD in Oakland and went to a Grateful Dead Show. It was an awesome experience, to see Jerry and the GD while high on pure lsd 50 from a vial of liquid. I later, after the show, rode the bart from Oakland to SF while still tripping balls on LSD, when my friends and I got off the Bart we were walking the streets of San Francisco, crossing the busy streets of SF at night was surreal, I was nearly ran over several times while crossing the road carelessly high on LSD. Point being: crossing roads at night while high or careless is very dangerous. I had a great time, but I will never forget the car coming to a screeching hault just feet away while I was tripping on the City Lights. RIP young soul, they say only the good die young. Bless up
