I Uber for all my drive bys. Plus it’s handy to have a gun with me so the Uber driver doesn’t try to get frisky with me.

I always have a gun on me. People these days are just to unpredictable, high on drugs and desperate. Not a good combination for public safety. No, it’s not going away with everyone sharing there wealth and being fair. It is becoming ingrained behavior that you can take and not have to give back and no one will do anything about it. When you repeatedly give and receive nothing in return, your just a sucker.

This type of incident appears to be more matter of fact. What is happening to our area? This is becoming a ho-hummm occurrence. Are we reverting back to the Ole West? Is it me or has there been an increase in serious violence? No one in authority seems to know why there is an escalation of so many altercations with weapons. Getting scary!!

The Culture of Violence in the American West
Myth versus Reality
By Thomas J. DiLorenzo

“Contrary to popular perception, the Old West was much more peaceful than American cities are today. The real culture of violence on the frontier during the latter half of the nineteenth century sprang from the U.S. government’s policies toward the Plains Indians.”

The homicide rate in Dodge City was 165 per 100,000*, or 33 times the current national average, and a little less that half of Chicago’s current murder rate, where racist government policies also contribute considerably.

*I think Matt Dillon must have been responsible for at least half that figure.

Apparently there is a difference in historical opinion. The 1880 census for Dodge City was less than 1000 people. The murder rate of 165 per 100k is statistically meaningless…. about 3 people every 2 years.

Chicago is not the most violent city in the US: St. Louis, Baltimore, Detroit, New Orleans.

You can vote in stricter punishment for drug addict/criminals oops? Last I read in the constitution you can also pick up a gun and overthrow a corrupt government….. but that requires having a gun and the balls to actually go do it! Option C is just lay on your back and let the government take care of you while giving criminals immunity. California is in plan C. Take a look at what folks do in Virginia when the government try’s to take away there freedom and guns…… they protest against it, with guns in hand! NOT for it! Those are true Americans. Not socialist tyrants.

Stricter drug prohibition laws just increase the monetary value of the drugs in question. Prohibition has never worked and it never will.

You were calling for stricter punishment of drug offenders. There is absolutely no evidence that does anything but drive up drug prices and incentive more crime.
http://www.pewtrusts.org/research-and-analysis/issue-briefs/2018/03/more-imprisonment-does-not-reduce-state-drug-problems
Killing drug offenders has the same effect, with an even more deleterious effect on civil society. Everybody has known this since 1933, yet you continue to crusade for the very worst non-solutions to social problems out if sheer impotent rage.

If you just really want to kill someone, join the Marines.

Drugs themselves kill. And one only has to look at the Opium Wars to realize that making everything available and expecting no self responsibility doesn’t work either. So even places where drug use is not criminalized, their sale and manufacturing is. And even uses, while not jailed, are fined. So prohibition exists but penalties to users are more and more being treated as administrative rather than criminal.

Great one tax payer! “We will confiscate any firearm that is designed to kill!” Ummmm isn’t that what firearms are designed to do? That’s why I pay top dollar for a firearm, more accurate, more deadly, more reliable! Maybe he meant that he just wants to ban “evil” firearms, that would make more sense.
The most inaccurate and unsafe to shoot rifles I own are the ones that I am forced to make California legal!

There are definitely a pack of thieves that use bair road to slip into Hoopah after ripping off homesteads in the willow creek extended area. They are well armed and known by name by many people in the area, and they are trouble. Hopefully they get caught by an aware land owner and disappear someday soon.

That’s a good point. But I don’t like the idea of a Wild West shoot out when we encounter bad guys. I well paid police force is more civil- but since we don’t have that around here oh well

Even if we had well staffed and well paid police force, it still doesn’t do allot of good when response time is longer than the incident lasts. I live about 50 minutes from the sheriffs office, it took them 11 hours to show up.
