[UPDATE 2:51 p.m.: Redwood Drive Reopened] Redwood Drive Closed at Dean Creek and Other Impacts on SoHum Roads
According to Denton Carrick of Humboldt County Public Works, Redwood Drive is closed between Dean Creek and Willow (the dump road) because of downed trees and power lines.
Several other roads are impacted. At one point Briceland Road was closed near Whitmore Grove after a number of trees fell. However, Carrick says that Redway Fire and County Roads have opened it back up.
Carrick said that chains are required on Alderpoint Road. He also said to carry chains on Briceland and Shelter Cove Roads.
UPDATE 7:51 a.m.: According to Cheryl Antony, spokesperson for Shelter Cove Fire Department,
[There is] Snow above the General Store. Shelter Cove Fire has been out clearing roadways blocked with downed trees. We advise people to stay home for now. If they must drive, take the bypass at Kings Peak and Shelter Cove Road, as it is not as steep.
Update 1:25 p.m. According to the CHP incident page, there is a tree blocking the Alderpoint Road at the Harris turnoff Harris Road one and 1/2 miles south of Alderpoint Road. Although there is no mention of downed lines on the incident page, it is PG&E that is being asked to respond. Proceed with caution.
UPDATE 2:51 p.m.: Redwood Drive has reopened.

Snow in Weott this morning. Not a lot, but more than enough.
Power blinked last night, too.
At least it’s not below freezing at this altitude…
Small favors from the universe, I guess.
Four inches near Four Corners Perry Meadow, had to cut out six trees in one mile, slid sideways in my 4WD car in four places. Scary. Dangerous. Stay home!
🕯🌳Good morning Kym and thank you for the updates. 4📡🇺🇸👁
“Down” trees? I would say, “downed trees” (or better yet, “fallen trees”). As far as I know trees cannot acquire Down syndrome.
Really not funny.
Yep, you’re right. For some reason, I didn’t put “ed” on the first use of “down”. Fixed now.
Lost Coast says the tree is blocking Harris Rd and Bell Springs, not Alderpoint road and Harris Rd?
Sorry. Our error. Fixed now.
