Saturated soils then an earthquake result more than the ordinary amount of storm caused downed trees and the quakes also sets off mass movement events. Good thing this earthquake was only 3.3.

Earthquakes set off dormant slides when the soil is saturated with water. Slide features, shallow and deep, are common in local geology.

Trees also uproot and fall over most often when the soil is saturated, often aided by wind and acerbated if there is heavy, wet snow in branches.

A major earthquake when soil is saturated (now) causes more damage than when soil is dry.

🕯🌳Kind of expected it with all the volcanic activity on the ring as of lately. Kind of thought it would be bigger but go figure. ✨☄🌨🌧

Southern Puerto Rico just got a couple of shallow, big (6.0) earthquakes. They suffered tremendous damage.

Not far from the epicenter and I looked at the clock at about 8:55 and made a note of the time because I might have felt something..
Rarely do here on a concrete floor, but there was a small vibration under my feet as I sat at the computer. Something unusual.
Fancy that.
