Driver Dead After Crash on 101 in Del Norte County
Press release from the Crescent City California Highway Patrol:
On January 13th, 2020, at approximately 1017 hours, a single vehicle collision occurred on United States Highway 101, just north of mile post marker 16.00 [in Del Norte County]. The Suzuki sport utility vehicle (SUV) was traveling northbound at that location, when the driver lost control and left the roadway. Subsequently, the vehicle overturned and struck a large Redwood tree on the east side of the roadway. The driver was the single occupant of the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries. The cause of this collision is still under investigation.
