[UPDATE 1:57 p.m] Blood, Major Damage to Vehicle, But No Driver Found at Crash Scene Near Honeydew Exit Last Night

According to report from the Chief of Redcrest Fire, Justin Olander, there was lots of blood and major vehicle damage. He said that members of Redcrest Volunteer Fire, the California Highway Patrol, and Cal Fire were unable to locate anyone on scene.

“When we got there, there was still oil dripping out the front of the truck,” Olander said. “It was an end over end rollover…This thing was completely smashed. Seatbelt was worn and airbag was deployed. …We checked both sides of the highway but didn’t find anything.”

Olander said that the person in the vehicle bled a lot. “It was pooled up pretty good in a couple of spots,” he told us. “Whoever it was was bleeding pretty good.”

And he’s worried. “I couldn’t hardly sleep last night,” he said. But, he explained, “We didn’t see any signs of anyone leaving [on foot].  I’m thinking someone picked ‘em up.”

He paused and then said, “I’m just hoping the person got picked up.”

UPDATE 1:57 p.m.: According to a reader,

I know the person who picked up the man in that roll over accident. Idk if they don’t want to come forward or what? But they picked him up walking on side of road by the crash. He had a pretty good gash on his head but insisted he was fine and asked them to take him to his gf house… When they dropped him off she said she was taking him to the er to get stitches . Just didn’t want people to think there was someone lost and injured out there.
