Last night, law enforcement was looking for the driver of a Toyota Tacoma that left the scene of a crash near the Honeydew exit from Hwy 101 about 11. The pickup had major rollover damage, according to a CHP spokesperson.

According to report from the Chief of Redcrest Fire, Justin Olander, there was lots of blood and major vehicle damage. He said that members of Redcrest Volunteer Fire, the California Highway Patrol, and Cal Fire were unable to locate anyone on scene.

“When we got there, there was still oil dripping out the front of the truck,” Olander said. “It was an end over end rollover…This thing was completely smashed. Seatbelt was worn and airbag was deployed. …We checked both sides of the highway but didn’t find anything.”

Olander said that the person in the vehicle bled a lot. “It was pooled up pretty good in a couple of spots,” he told us. “Whoever it was was bleeding pretty good.”

And he’s worried. “I couldn’t hardly sleep last night,” he said. But, he explained, “We didn’t see any signs of anyone leaving [on foot].  I’m thinking someone picked ‘em up.”

He paused and then said, “I’m just hoping the person got picked up.”

If you have any information, please contact the California Highway Patrol at (707) 268-2000.

UPDATE 1:57 p.m.: According to a reader,

I know the person who picked up the man in that roll over accident. Idk if they don’t want to come forward or what? But they picked him up walking on side of road by the crash. He had a pretty good gash on his head but insisted he was fine and asked them to take him to his gf house… When they dropped him off she said she was taking him to the er to get stitches 🤷🏻‍♀️. Just didn’t want people to think there was someone lost and injured out there.

Man that is a nasty crash. Glad the person was wearing a seatbelt and the airbag deployed. I would think that the use of the safety equipment probably saved his life. I hope he was picked up by someone, and taken to a hospital, and did not wander off into the brush, fall over and bleed to dead. Maybe a stolen truck and he left at high speed.

And 9 times out of 10 it is for some selfish drunk looking to ruin lives, or at least distract from worthy causes….

O what a feeling to drive….. Toyota! The humboldt staple of transportation. I’ve totaled a handful myself back in my drinking daze.

So, why did Prius driver use the left lane? Because the right lane was too trumpy!

I have a toyota ’83 that I was forced to drive off a cliff on my property. It looks a lot like this vehicle. It is now a parts truck, Call my office in Gville if interested.

I walked away from a bad accident once. I thought I was fine until a few hours later I went into shock. Blessings to the injured. Please take care of each other 💕

🕯🌳Alot of these commentators should apply for the Sheriff’s department job, they already send him code.👁

🕯🌳If the girlfriend drove him to the hospital then the police should still be trying to contact A. The person that updated the story for the information, or B the the driver/girlfriend if they have not reported it yet?⚖👁 And even the hospital’s to find out more information. 🖖🇺🇸

Truly, this driver could’ve killed himself and/or others in a crash like this. Glad he walked away, but he will likely not change his ways.
All drivers need to pay attention to how other drivers are navigating our roadways, full time.

🕯🌳When most events are promoted by bars ,pubs or local breweries then what are you to expect. 🦄🐎 Plus know one’s updated any information about the driver or what his actually condition was at the time. No blood test,no breath test so it leaves everything to speculation. 🛸
