Prescribed Burns in Several Places Today

As wet weather settles in, more areas will be doing prescribed burns.

Today and Friday, the Shasta-Trinity National Forest Service will be doing prescribed burns in several places including north of Lakehead and east of Trinity Lake.

According to Carol Underhill, a spokesperson for Shasta-Trinity National Forest Service, the Westside Project on South Fork Mountain near Highway 36 consisting of 20 machine piles is slated to be set off today also and it will continue through tomorrow.

Please do not report these fires.
